REIMAGINE

What is REIMAGINE?

REIMAGINE stands for recognising & supporting informal mhealth in Africa through grassroots interventions. It is a multi-country mixed-methods project funded by the Medical Research Council. The overall goal of REIMAGINE is to co-develop, deploy, and evaluate an intervention that will recognise and support Community Health Workers’ ‘informal’ use of personal mobile devices in Ghana, Malawi, and Ethiopia.

The results will form the basis of policy to scale up measures supporting CHW’s informal mhealth usage in the three study countries, with generalisable guidelines for use in other LMIC contexts.

Project Leadership

REIMAGINE is a collaboration between Durham University, the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), the University of Malawi, and the University of Gondar (Ethiopia). It also involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Ghana Health Service and the Ministries of Health in Malawi in Ethiopia.
